I never intended to start the year of this relaxed, but what am I to do when two very talented songwriters release two great albums in a similar style in the first two weeks? The new album by Joshua Radin titled Onward and Sideways is a real treat and has a number of really great tracks. The track I chose is a duet with Sheryl Crow, and I just can’t stop listening to it over and over.

Week 39: Lady Gaga – Telephone (Alphabeat Extended Remix)
Pop can be great, and remixes of pop tracks can be even greater! Since I have already made it very clear that covers are something I enjoy a lot, the fact that I like remixed tracks shouldn’t come as a shock. Lady Gaga is a true pop star, and someone I find myself listening to more that I should admit. This remix of her single Telephone is a really great club remix of a fun track that always gets me in a good mood.
Week 22: Barenaked Ladies – If I Had $1000000
There are some groups out there who consistently put out great tracks. Barenaked Ladies is one of those groups, in my opinion. This track is from their very first album which came out 22 years ago. Realizing that makes me feel old. Either way, it’s a nice mellow track with amazing lyrics that makes me smile every time I hear it.
Week 19: Michael Jackson – Smooth Criminal
As most people who are into music probably know, there’s a new Michael Jackson album being released. I thought I’d celebrate the musical genius that is Mr. Jackson by having what I think is easily his best work as the track of the week. Smooth Criminal is easily one of the best pop songs ever recorded, and the energy of it always gets me in a good mood.
Week 15: Jonathan Coulton – Code Monkey
Being a senior web developer who have been making web sites and various web applications for about 15 years, this is how I feel at times. I chose the live version of this track, because in my opinion it’s better than the original album version, and it’s slightly slower, which makes it easier to hear what he sings.
Week 10: “Weird Al” Yankovic – Eat It
Today is Fat Tuesday, or Mardi Gras if you like, and I was sitting here thinking there’d be no better way to celebrate it than by having Eat It by “Weird Al” Yankovic as track of the week. Enjoy!
Week 2: Robbie Williams – Let Me Entertain You
Back at work for the first time in a couple of weeks, and I felt the need for something upbeat and high energy. I have always liked this song.
